Two Artists Living on the Big Island of Hawai`i
The environment we live in, is conducive to the artists life-style, in that we are simply allowed to do our work. Living on the slope of Hualalai Mountain, which looks down on Konas coastline, we are in the midst of a coffee farming and art community, rich with culture and history. We have our own art gallery in Holualoa, which is one of eight galleries, all within strolling distance, along Scenic Mamalahoa Hwy. 180. Its a little cooler at this elevation, and its only about 10 minutes from Kailua-Kona. Holualoa Gallery was founded in January of 1990.
We spend almost all of our time together, making art, planning art, talking about art plans, or the business of art. There are some definite advantages to being in the same field and one of the most valuable, is the feedback that we give each other. All the new technology that we have access to, has really helped with the business end of our work. We use our computer for bookkeeping and creating ads as well as recreation. We are really turning into eggheads. Visit Holualoa Gallery, founded January 1990 by Owners / Artists Matthew & Mary Lovein. Just 10 minutes from Kailua-Kona in picturesque and quaint Holualoa Town, on the Big Island of Hawaii.
